MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a biogenic sulfur compound derived from pine pulp, known for its anti-rheumatic and anti-inflammatory effects. It significantly contributes to the regeneration of articular cartilage tissue. MSM supports the structure of tendons, ligaments, and muscles and participates in the synthesis of collagen and keratin. It also stimulates antibody production, thereby aiding the immune system.
Mechanism of action:
In cases of fibrous cartilage tissue cell inflammation, it is observed that cells become tense and stiff, leading to swelling and pain. MSM restores the flexibility and permeability of cell walls, improving fluid exchange in tissues. Harmful substances (such as lactic acid) are removed from cells, while cells themselves are supplied with nutrients and regenerate.
Due to this effect, pressure in tissue cells normalizes, and pain is reduced or its causes are eliminated. This process is particularly important for active and older horses (due to frequent bruises, muscle soreness, and injuries).
